The Infected Blood Inquiry published final compensation recommendations (the second interim report) on 5th April 2023. Despite the urgency of the situation and the Inquiry recommending that a compensation system be operational before the final report, the government has yet to respond.

Infected victims continue to die without knowing that their suffering and loss will be fully recognised, either in their lifetime or at all. The lives of most of those who have died remain unrecognised.

This page records the government's unjustified delay in responding to and implementing the Inquiry's compensation recommendations.

The data above operates on calculations including the date and time the second interim report was published and the accepted statistic, as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak noted under oath to the Inquiry, that one infected person dies every four days.

We call on the government to act.
